Start with the transfer from the international terminal
The subway route begins with a shuttle to the domestic terminal. For direct buses, compare each operator's boarding area and drop-off point, then the last stretch to your hotel.
Choose the area you return to each day
Decide whether you will repeat JR departures or Tenjin shopping more often. Within the same area, station exits and hotel entrances differ, so check the actual route.

Do not fill the city and a side trip into one day
If rain is forecast, start from the indoor plan. On a Dazaifu day, leave part of the city plan out, and for yatai at night check that day's opening and the way back to your hotel.
For Yufuin, settle the round trip first
If Yufuin no Mori is sold out, compare the limited express Yufu and the bus. Confirm the return and your time in town, then choose a day trip or an overnight stay.
In Yufuin, plan luggage and the walk back together
On a day trip, match the time you collect stored luggage with your return. Luggage delivery for overnight guests does not apply to every inn, so check eligibility and drop-off conditions first.
