First check **whether your itinerary lets you pass Singapore immigration**. If you want to sleep without leaving the airport transit area, look at the airside transit hotels by terminal. Terminals 1 and 3 have the Changi Transit Hotel, and Terminal 2 is listed as the Ambassador Transit Hotel until November 2, 2026. YOTELAIR at Jewel is landside, in the public area, so you must clear immigration to reach it. Following the transfer signs will not take you between the two properties.

## First decide: will you enter Singapore?

Scroll the table sideways. With a keyboard, move focus to the table and use the arrow keys.

| Option | Location | Best when | Check before booking |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Airside transit hotel by terminal | Departure transit area of Terminals 1, 2 and 3 | You can stay in the transit area without entering Singapore and hold a valid boarding pass for your next flight | The operator at each terminal on your dates, when the boarding pass is issued, and whether you must collect checked baggage |
| YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport | Jewel, level 4, public area (landside) | You can enter Singapore and also want to rest, eat or shop at Jewel | Entry requirements and visa, the actual check-in time and stay length of the cabin, and how much time is left before your departure check-in and security screening |

If your second flight is a separate booking, or you must collect checked baggage and drop it off again, part of your trip may require entering Singapore. Ask each airline whether your bags are checked through to the final destination and what the transfer procedure is, then choose the hotel.

ICA treats travelers who go on to another country without clearing arrival immigration in Singapore as transit passengers. If baggage collection or re-check-in for the next flight means you must clear immigration, Singapore entry requirements apply. Travelers entering Singapore must submit the SG Arrival Card within 3 days before arrival, including the day of arrival; transit passengers who do not clear immigration are exempt. Check the entry and transit rules in the [ICA entry guidance](<https://www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore>) and the [transit guidance](<https://www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/transiting-singapore>), and ask your airline if it is unclear whether you must clear immigration.

## If you will not enter Singapore: airside transit hotels

Terminal 1 transit hotel.

The Changi Transit Hotel at Terminals 1 and 3, and the Ambassador Transit Hotel currently at Terminal 2, are inside the departure transit area. You stay without passing immigration, so you must be able to remain in the transit area. According to the hotel operator, you need a valid boarding pass for your next flight, and airside hotels accept cabin baggage only, not checked baggage.

If you start from Singapore city and want to use this hotel, you must still check in with your airline and then clear departure immigration and security to enter the transit area. Compare the time the airline's early check-in opens with the hotel's booking start time first. If you need to change terminals, check the Skytrain operating hours and the transfer shuttle in the airport information, and leave some margin.

As of October 6, 2026, Terminal 2 is listed as the Ambassador Transit Hotel. Changi Airport has announced that the operator changes to Changi Transit Hotel from November 3, 2026. If your stay falls around that date, do not book on the old hotel name alone. Check the operator and booking page that apply to your night.

## If you will enter Singapore and use Jewel: YOTELAIR

![Example of a Premium Queen cabin at YOTELAIR in Jewel](<https://pix8.agoda.net/hotelImages/6587859/-1/4dff535a4e39c154e04a3be9eece008f.jpg?va=1&ce=0&s=1024x>)

YOTELAIR is on level 4 of Jewel near Lobby H, in the public area of the airport. Transit passengers must also clear immigration and passport control to reach it, and some nationalities may need a visa. Do not book until you have confirmed that you are eligible to enter Singapore.

Once you go landside, you must re-enter the departure hall for your next flight. Build the airline check-in deadline, the time to drop off checked baggage, departure immigration and security screening, and the transfer between terminals into your plan. YOTELAIR also lists short hourly stays, but the available times, cabins and check-in method must be confirmed on the booking page for your dates and with the hotel.

## Transferring at T4: check the shuttle and baggage rules

Terminal 4 is linked to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 by terminal shuttles. The Changi Transit Hotel operator says free shuttles run on both the airside and landside, but which one you can use depends on your actual transfer procedure. Ask your airline whether your tickets are linked, whether checked baggage goes through to the final destination, and whether you received a transfer boarding pass. If you must collect your bags and check in again, you may have to enter Singapore, which turns your choice into a landside one.

The route from Jewel to T4 is also different from an airside transfer. You leave YOTELAIR, move through the public area of the airport and take the T4 shuttle, so if your departure is from T4, allow separate time for the transfer, including check-in and security screening. It is safer to confirm the shuttle boarding point and operating conditions in the airport information on the day of departure.

## What to check before booking

1. Ask the airline about the booking reference for each flight, when the boarding pass is issued, and how the transfer is connected.
2. Check whether checked baggage goes through to the final destination. If you must collect and re-check your bags, also check the Singapore entry requirements.
3. Check the Singapore entry requirements and whether a visa is needed for your nationality and passport in the official guidance.
4. On the product you actually selected, check the terminal, the transfer route to the hotel, the usage hours of the room and the cancellation terms.
5. If you use Terminal 2, check whether the operator change on November 3, 2026 applies to your booking dates.

Rooms, stay hours and cancellation terms vary by date and product. Enter your travel dates and number of guests to check the terms.
